To further solidify local youth development initiatives, the Local Government Unit of Sta. Cruz formally received key officials from the Guidance and Counseling Services Office of the Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) – Tagudin Campus during a courtesy visit at the municipal hall.

The LGU delegation, led by Municipal Mayor Hon. Teresita C. Valle and Municipal Administrator Engr. Angelica Marie C. Valle, warmly welcomed Dr. Omar C. Valenzuela, Program Head of the Psychology Department, and Mr. Sonny A. Jallorina, Guidance Associate of the campus’s Guidance and Counseling Services Office.

During the meeting, Mayor Valle and Engr. Valle expressed their deep appreciation to the visiting academic professionals for their active role as learning service providers and resource persons. The institution has been a vital partner of the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in aggressively implementing the municipal Career Development Support Program (CDSP) across both public and private high schools in Sta. Cruz.

Through this institutional partnership, Grade 10 and Grade 12 students throughout the municipality have been receiving critical career guidance, tracking support, and psychological evaluation to help them navigate their future tertiary education and employment pathways.

A key highlight of the courtesy visit was the initial discussion regarding a proposed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between LGU Sta. Cruz and ISPSC. Once finalized, the MOA will officially formalize and expand the partnership, paving the way for more streamlined community extension services, counseling clinics, and sustainable educational outreach programs for the youth of the municipality.
